Exams are all finished now although there are still a number of revision sessions, in preparation for modular examinations upon our return to school in January. I must congratulate all pupils – their work ethic during the Exam period was excellent and I am confident that results will be equally the same. Staff will be working extremely hard this week to mark papers and provide feedback to all pupils before completing reports.
The Year 12 GCSE Drama class were also rehearsing and recording their Drama performances to a range of audiences in the course of the week. Their confidence was oozing, diction was clear, and their performances were so professional. Well done boys and girls, and Miss Gervin.
The pupils and staff were treated to a very tasty Christmas Lunch yesterday – along with mouth-watering desserts as well. Thank you to Karen and the ladies in the Canteen - over 1000 dinners served from 11.45 – 2.00pm – a great achievement, with everyone so appreciative of the lovely meal. This happens all year long of course, so thanks to the Canteen staff for looking after our pupils so well and ensuring that they have healthy meals on a daily basis.
Today was Christmas Jumper Day and there were some lovely designs! All proceeds were in aid of St Vincent De Paul, a very worthwhile cause.
Congratulations to the 100+ Year 8 pupils who have loads and loads of achievement points for their hard work and effort all term, and zero behaviour points on our Rewards system. They totally enjoyed their day, ice-skating at Dundonald Ice Bowl. Year 8 are a terrific Year Group and Mrs Monaghan is so proud of them all!
You are aware that Agriculture is a hugely popular and successful subject in the College. On Monday the Club had an engaging visit to Linden Foods for an insight into the meat processing industry. This was followed by a visit to Marks & Spencer, with a guided tour behind the scenes and the complexity of the industry.
It’s all systems go now for our Christmas Market and Winter Wonderland. Keep the evening free – Tuesday 17th December 5.30pm – 5.30pm and don’t forget about Santa Claus!
Have a great weekend
