Week 14

Friday 15th December 2023

Hi there

There was so much work covered this week in addition to returning Exam scripts and providing feedback to pupils.  Staff also remained behind on Wednesday night quite late to make sure reports were well underway.

A huge thanks to our Canteen staff who served a most delicious Christmas dinner on Wednesday.  Children and staff thoroughly enjoyed their meal and it was great to see so many empty plates returned to the serving hatch. We also dressed up in our Christmas finery with all donations going to St Vincent de Paul.  Congratulations to the worthy winners – Roisin, Brianna and Adrianna, along with Mr Mc Gartland who won the staff prize.

A number of Year 13 & 14 students attended St Patrick’s Academy on Monday for training as Peer Mentors.  Year 14 were also busy engaging in Interview Skills with a large range of businesses, organisations and universities.  This was great experience for the students and whilst nervous initially, they were put at ease and performed exceptionally.  Well done to the Careers Department for organising this very innovative programme.

Following the hard work of this Term, Year 8 received their Attendance and Recognition Certificates, which Year 12 had a great retail therapy day at Rushmere Shopping Centre.  The Staff also enjoyed this trip and purchased Kirsty, the hamster for the HTC community.

I was delighted to attend Holy Trinity Primary School this morning for the official opening of their ASC/LSC Centres. Miss Devlin and her staff are doing amazing work not only in the Centres but right across the Primary School. Well done everyone.

And that’s all for another week.
