Week 21

Friday 9th February 2024

Hi Everyone!

Safer Internet Day occurred on Tuesday across the globe. We played our part in Assembly, raising the importance of online safety. We also issue an E-Safety notice every fortnight. The theme was based on changes in technology and how we can use our influence to inspire positive change. Our job is to support and guide our young people to make the right choices.

We were delighted that so many Year 10 parents/guardians attended our GCSE Subject Options and Parent Teacher Meeting after school on Wednesday.  Year 10 are at a crucial stage in their development and selecting Subject options in preparation for GCSE in Year 11 isn’t easy.  With a very competent staff and careers advisors, our pupils will have received the correct advice.  Don’t forget to submit your Options choices by today, 9th February.

The GCSE English Literature students had an exceptional visit to the Seamus Heaney Homeplace and provided with further in-depth analysis to the poetry section of their syllabus. A great resource on our doorstep!

Congratulations to Year 8 who had a successful win against St Pius.  And well done to Year 13 – all of the students are out on 2 x day work placements in a range of industry and businesses.  This will give them a real flavour for the work place and will assist their decision-making skills for their future pathway.

The College will be closed next week for a well-deserved break for everyone.  Be sure to relax, refresh and re-energise yourselves.

Have a lovely relaxing mid-term break, stay safe and keep well.
