Week 12
Friday 27th November 2020
My goodness, how fast did this week go!! And we are almost into December and another 2 week lockdown as of today!. Please keep yourselves and each other safe.
As you know, there is a lot of pressure on our Exam Groups this year, but I was so proud of Year 11 Double Award and Year 12 Single Award GCSE Science pupils on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The pupils demonstrated a very positive work ethic during their exams. We wish them and all other Exam pupils the best of luck for this year and we look forward to brilliant results for this cohort in early January. A huge thanks to their Science teachers under the direction of Mrs Mc Allister, for ensuring that the pupils had every work opportunity possible both in school and online.
Well, our beef calf went to Clogher Market on Monday night – with a price tag of £1600. This has been a terrific project for our pupils. With Agriculture taught at GCSE and A Level, the Project brought practical work and knowledge outside of the classroom. A very innovative initiative. A huge thanks to all involved including Hutton Butchers for sponsoring the project. We are all looking forward to the next creative idea.
We truly appreciate those from our community who are donating food parcels to the school for our families. Contact Mrs Gilvary, Vice Principal, with details if you could benefit from a food parcel. And don’t forget, the Education Authority also distribute food parcels to those families who are in receipt of Free School Meals. We will contact you if you are eligible for a FSM Food parcel. All food parcels are distributed anonymously.
NI Universities are keeping us up to date online re forthcoming courses. Check out Facebook and website. The Careers Department are brilliant at keeping everyone informed.
Bye for now and keep safe.
