Week 12 – Friday 26th November 2021
Since commencing school in September, we all agree that Year 12 and their teachers, have been under immense pressure and stress. These pupils have not sat formal exams in almost 2 years and this week, they completed exams in Science and English, based on Year 11 work. No wonder there was no time to lose and with an extended school day to 4.30pm almost every day. Year 11 pupils also completed their Double Award Science GCSE Exam and are to be congratulated for their work ethic. Thanks to our Canteen staff who provided a free breakfast every morning for these hard-working pupils. More GCSE Exams next week!
MacRory Team got their campaign off to a winning start with a 5-07 to 1-07 victory over St Macartan’s Monaghan. Well done Boys! And not to be outdone, the U-20 Girls had a magnificent win against Loreto Grammar on Wednesday. Super effort Girls!.
There is a huge focus on reading for pleasure in the College and this week, Year 9 & 10 received their bookbuzz books.
Best of luck to Year 12 student Rachel Tallon who has been nominated for Young Ladies Footballer of the Year and to our Headboy, Blaine Ryan, nominated for an All Stars Award. Both students play in their respective Moortown Teams.
There’s alot we can do to help look after our environment. 9 AOH were certainly raising awareness about our planet in their fabulous poster displays. Well done everyone.
NI Universities continue to keep us up to date re forthcoming online courses. Check out Facebook and our website for details. The Careers Department are brilliant at keeping everyone informed.
And finally, a huge thanks to Women’s Aid who have been delivering seminars to Year 10 about healthy and unhealthy relationships. Such an important service for those affected by domestic violence.
Don’t forget girls and boys, the Christmas Exam period commences next Thursday. Revision booklets are on the website. Prepare well and be proud of your success.
Have a great weekend.
