Week 5

Friday 6th October 2023

Hello there!

October is upon us – Optimistic October - take action to help you focus on what really matters – achieve those goals!

Quite a range of activities scheduled this week but the academic work also keeps going. After school Revision classes are well underway as students prepare for GCSE Exams after the mid term break.

Year 9 & 10 received their HPV Vaccinations, and in complete contrast, selected Year 14 students engaged in Senior Prefect Training via the EA. We look forward to Year 14 engaging in their respective roles. Year 12 enjoyed their day at the Eikon Centre, Lisburn – really important to think about their future pathways.

Year 8 were looking swell as they prepared themselves to have their individual photographs taken for our school system – loads of smiles on Wednesday! We will let you know when these are available to purchase online. Check out the Year 8 video on our Facebook page to see what they thought of their first month in Holy Trinity College. Well done everyone!

Comhghairdeas to our Year 10 Irish students who took first place in the annual Gael Linn Quiz held on Wednesday in the Glenavon Hotel, with stiff competition from other local secondary and grammar schools. We look forward to competing in the regional finals. Great success.

Many of our students are from farming backgrounds and therefore Agriculture plays an important part in our curriculum with large numbers both at GCSE and A Level study. This year we have embarked on a Shared Education Project with Cookstown High School and look forward to our partnership with Foyle Meats about the forthcoming project – all to be revealed.

A number of Year 14 students are travelling to Zambia next Easter to engage in building work and support families and children less well off. They have much fundraising to do so any support is welcomed. Their Bun Sale went down a treat today with both students and staff. Good Luck Everyone with this very exciting project – a fantastic opportunity.

Have a great weekend everyone
