Week 40

Week 40 – Thursday 30th June 2022

Hi Everyone!

It is the last week of Term and of this academic year. What a year it has been – a few challenges along the way but certainly many success stories to reflect on.

Year 8 – 11 Reports were forwarded on Monday and the final public examination occurred on Tuesday. I wish to commend our young people on how they performed and applied themselves during the past two months of examinations. They were absolutely brilliant, and deserve all credit. I know the results will be equally brilliant come August. I want to thank staff and support staff who worked diligently with the students, preparing them for their exams. Thank you as well to our parents/guardians for your ongoing encouragement to your son/ daughter. We are so proud of them and know they will achieve well on Results’ Day.

If we are counting our steps every day this week, it certainly hasn’t been a problem!. So many boxes of books, resources and equipment all stored throughout the school in a mad rush to ensure classrooms are completely cleared for relocation. On top of that, EA are working on the new Specialist Learning Provision classroom, Careers room and Sensory room – exciting times ahead.

We look forward to meeting our new Year 8 pupils during their Transition Summer Scheme on 15th – 19th August. It will be an action-packed week of activities.

Year 8 & 9 had a great trip to Tayto Park and We are Vertigo respectively. Brilliant fun each day. So disappointed I wasn’t invited!!

‘Blue Belle’ has been won. A super prize. Thanks everyone for participating in the draw as all funds go towards more exciting Agricultural activities next year.

Parents/Guardians, your kind words, encouragement and positivity during the past year has been very much appreciated. Thank you, and of course to our pupils who have kept us focused, motivated and engaged, and for whom the College is all about.

I also wish to thank the Board of Governors for their diligent work, advice and commitment in support of the College. They are so supportive in everything we do.

Thank you for keeping up to date with me on my Blog. I hope you enjoyed it and I look forward to returning in the new School Year!

Have a restful, safe and happy Summer, and please look after yourselves.

Bye for now

Isabel Russell
