Week 30 – Friday 30th April 2021
I’m sure you are all looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend. I just can’t wait for my trip to the hairdresser - long overdue! Many of our girls and boys have already been or to the barber – wow! They look terrific with their new styles. With more places opening this weekend, please be careful – keep your distance, wear your mask and wash your hands often.
It was Year 10’s turn to work with Stephen Beattie from AB Coaching this week. They were amazing and so honest in their answers. We had discussion on looking out for each other, losing a loved one-how that felt and that we are all unique. Being aware of each other’s feelings, listening attentively and being focussed can support a child or an adult so much and help work towards our goals and achieve success.
Congratulations to Head Boy Kevin Mc Clean on achieving his apprenticeship in Civil Engineering with Aecom. What an achievement Kevin!
Years 12, 13 and 14 have worked so hard over the past number of weeks in subject assessments. They may not have completed formal public exams but the pressure on them and staff over the past few months has been enormous as we strive to ensure that each child performs to the best of their ability. Good Luck everyone on your final grade outcomes.
And Years 8 - 11 are working equally hard. They have been brilliant as well and very soon we will return to practical lessons to enhance their learning – so looking forward to this!
Good luck to past pupil Ronan Conlon as he sets out on his 100Mile challenge walking from Dublin Mater Hospital to Belfast City Hospital to raise money for Charis Cancer Care and MacMillan Cancer Support. We extend our best wishes to Ronan and wish him well on his walk.
Have a great weekend and see you all on Tuesday 4th.
