Week 18

Week 18 – Friday 14th January 2022

Sadly, a number of staff and pupils have been absent this week due to Covid. We hope that everyone recovers well and quickly.

To ensure that it was safe for pupils to be in school, we had to engage in remote learning for 1 x Year Group on different days this week. I am very proud of how everyone is working - pupils are engaging well in their learning, staff have appropriate resources on Google Classroom and as always, care and support is evident every day for our pupils.

We anticipate that Exams will proceed as planned. Years 11 – 14 completed GCSE and A Level Applied Exams this week and are also preparing for others next week. Good luck everyone! Do your very best at this stage and bank excellent results for yourselves. Be proud of your success.

We have had a busy week with Football. Commiserations to our Year 12 and U-16 Girls Teams. The Girls have had a very impressive campaign and have done well to reach the Ulster Quarter Final. Well done girls!

As for the MacRory Team! What a nail-biting performance they gave last night in PaircEsler against Abbey CBS, Newry, with an impressive win of 2 points to proceed to the Semi-finals. A great performance Boys – you and the management team, Mr Canavan and Mr Mc Keever, deserve every praise. Best of luck for the semi-final.

It’s been a busy week putting together final stages for Open Day / Open Evening. This year, there are scheduled appointments to enable prospective parents and pupils to visit the College to ensure that Holy Trinity College is the no.1 choice for all. A Digital Open Evening will occur later at 7.00pm, providing you with an opportunity to see a range of promotional videos and additional information about the College. We will have some short promotional videos on our Facebook page prior to the event, so don’t forget to log on and let us know what you think. You will be impressed.

Don’t forget – Open Day will occur on Thursday 20th January by appointment only and the Virtual Open Evening will occur on Thursday 20th January @ 7.00pm – from the comfort of your armchair!

Have a great weekend.
